Tulunad: The first edition of Tulunad Conclave - 2025, organized by the Tulu Cultural Research Foundation, is set to take place on April 13 at the Saptapadi Auditorium, Vishwanatha Kshetra, Katpadi.

Aimed at preserving and promoting the Tulu language, literature, and culture among future generations, this one-day event will witness the participation of scholars and enthusiasts from across Tulunad, stretching from Kasaragod to Udupi.

The conclave, scheduled from 9 AM to 6 PM, will feature discussions by experts on various aspects of Tulu heritage, including language, folklore, literature, and the long-standing fight for Tulu recognition. The foundation, known for its dedication to the Tulu script, will also unveil several new Tulu books at the event, following its success in publishing six Tulu-script books last year. Additionally, Mallige, a Unicode-compatible ASCII Tulu font developed by Sri Prahlad P. Tantri, along with a Tulu Unicode keyboard layout, will be officially launched during the event.

In an effort to unify voices for Tulu's recognition, the conclave will host a panel discussion featuring political leaders, cultural icons, and language activists to strategize on strengthening Tulu identity at both political and organizational levels. A Tulu book fair and cultural programs will also be part of the event. The foundation will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Tulu language and culture with its annual Sadhana Puraskara. Organizers emphasized that the conclave will be a day of deep reflection, discussion, and commitment toward preserving and promoting Tulu heritage.
