Surathkal Railway Station Set for Major Upgrade

Mangaluru: The much-awaited developmental work at Surathkal Railway Station commenced today with MP Captain Brijesh Chowta and Mangalore North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty laying the foundation stone. The upgradation project, estimated at ₹1.49 crore, aims to enhance passenger convenience at this crucial railway junction. The initiative marks a significant step in improving rail infrastructure in the region, catering to the long-standing demands of local commuters and travelers.

Expressing his gratitude, MP Brijesh Chowta took to social media to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna for their support. "I thank our PM Shri @narendramodi & Union Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw & MOS Railways Shri @VSOMANNA_BJP for fulfilling this long-sought demand of the people of this region," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The development is expected to boost connectivity and provide better amenities to passengers, reinforcing the government's commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure in Karnataka.
