In a thrilling encounter at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Punjab Kings secured an 18-run victory over Chennai Super Kings, thanks to a sensational century by Priyansh Arya. The 24-year-old opener smashed 103 runs off just 42 balls, reaching his hundred in 39 deliveries—the fastest by an uncapped player in IPL history. Arya's explosive innings, featuring seven fours and nine sixes, propelled Punjab Kings to a formidable total of 219 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a strong start by Chennai's openers, with Devon Conway scoring 69, the team fell short, finishing at 201 for 5. This victory marks Punjab Kings' third win in four games this season.

Chennai Super Kings began their chase with promise, as openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra put up a solid partnership, reaching 59 without loss in the powerplay. However, the required run rate escalated, and despite Conway's valiant 69-run effort, the middle order couldn't capitalize. MS Dhoni provided a brief spark with a late cameo, but it wasn't enough to overcome the mounting pressure. Chennai's innings concluded at 201 for 5, handing them their fourth consecutive defeat in IPL 2025.
