The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has launched its ambitious campaign, ‘Illagonji Genoda Bandara’ (A Library for Every Home), with an inspiring event at the residence of Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai in Kodimbadi on Saturday. This initiative aims to promote the rich literary heritage of the Tulu language by encouraging households to establish their own libraries. MLA Ashok Kumar Rai inaugurated the campaign by purchasing 150 Tulu books worth ₹10,000, setting a shining example for the community.

Speaking at the event, Rai emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Tulu literature, urging people to participate in the movement. Academy officials expressed their hope that this initiative will not only enhance literacy in Tulu-speaking regions but also instill a deep cultural connection to the language among the younger generations. The campaign is expected to inspire similar efforts across Karnataka, fostering a culture of reading and pride in regional literature.
