New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament, took a sharp swipe at the Opposition, asserting that for the first time in a decade, there will be "no foreign interference" in India's legislative affairs. Addressing the media before the session commenced on Friday, PM Modi expressed confidence that the session would bring new energy and determination towards achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. He urged lawmakers to meet the aspirations of the people and contribute to nation-building through meaningful debates and discussions. His remarks come in the backdrop of ongoing political debates over foreign influence in domestic matters, a topic that has been frequently raised by the ruling party.
The Budget Session 2025, set to run from January 31 to April 4, will be conducted in two phases, with a break between February 13 and March 10. All eyes are on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who will present the Union Budget on February 1, marking her eighth consecutive budget presentation—an unprecedented feat. However, the record for most budget presentations remains with former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. With the general elections approaching, this budget is expected to highlight key economic policies, welfare measures, and reforms aimed at furthering India's growth trajectory.
