New Delhi: Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta, accompanied by Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja, met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at his office in the Parliament premises today. The leaders sought Gadkari’s intervention in enhancing road connectivity to prominent religious destinations in Karnataka, including Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya. They specifically urged the construction of two crucial spur roads—one linking NH 75 and NH 275 via Periyashanti-Paichur and another connecting NH 73 and NH 169 through Guruvayanakere-Bajagole to improve accessibility for devotees and boost regional development.

Expressing gratitude for the minister’s time and positive response, MP Chowta highlighted the significance of these roads in easing pilgrim travel and promoting economic growth in the region. With Karnataka’s religious tourism witnessing steady growth, better road infrastructure is expected to enhance convenience for thousands of visitors flocking to these revered shrines. Shri Gadkari assured his support for the proposal, signaling a promising step towards strengthening connectivity in coastal and Malnad Karnataka.
