Mangaluru MLA Vedavyas Kamath has strongly criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Karnataka state budget, calling it a mere "white paper exercise" with no real intent for execution. He remarked that Siddaramaiah's announcements seemed like "writing down whatever comes to mind and later discarding them." Kamath accused the government of indulging in appeasement politics while neglecting the needs of backward and oppressed communities. He pointed out the lack of funds for the Narayana Guru Development Corporation and the Bunt Development Corporation, calling it an unfortunate oversight that undermines the coastal region's progress.

Kamath further alleged that Siddaramaiah presented the budget only to create a record rather than with genuine enthusiasm. He claimed that even the ruling party leaders showed no excitement or expectation from the budget. According to him, the government has cleverly packaged the budget to mislead the public while failing to address real development concerns. He expressed disappointment over the administration's approach, stating that it prioritizes political gains over people’s welfare, leaving key communities and regions sidelined.
