Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath spearheaded a road-block protest on Saturday, voicing concerns over the recently installed jammer at the district prison in Mangaluru. Kamath highlighted that the jammer's unscientific placement has caused significant inconvenience to local residents, traders, and employees in the vicinity over the past few weeks. He emphasized that despite multiple appeals to the authorities for immediate intervention, only assurances were provided without tangible action.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state government's responsiveness, Kamath remarked that the Congress-led administration appears indifferent to public grievances unless citizens resort to street protests. He asserted the necessity of public demonstrations to address the disruptions caused by the jammer and announced that the protest would commence in front of Mangaluru Jail.
