Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja has strongly criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for shelving the proposal to establish a primary, high school, and pre-university education institution in Arasinamakki, Belthangady taluk. The project, which was initially planned under his leadership, aimed to provide quality education to rural students. However, under the current government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the proposal has been sidelined, leaving the local community disappointed.

Raising the issue in the state assembly, MLA Poonja urged the government to reconsider the decision and allocate the necessary funds for the institution’s construction. He emphasized that the initiative was crucial for the educational development of the region and warned that neglecting such projects would hinder the progress of students in rural areas. The demand has sparked political debate, with Poonja accusing the Congress government of disregarding key developmental projects initiated under the previous administration.
