Mangaluru’s Carstreet Turns into a Splash of Colors as Devotees Celebrate ‘Okuli’

Mangaluru: The vibrant festival of ‘Okuli’ brought an explosion of colors to Carstreet as devotees marked the grand finale of the renowned Sri Venkatramana Temple Car Festival, popularly called ‘Kodial Theru.’ The GSB community gathered in large numbers on Wednesday morning, transforming the streets into a joyous spectacle of devotion and celebration. The air was filled with laughter and cheer as young and old alike drenched each other in colorful water, embracing the spirit of festivity with open hearts.

The highlight of the day was the symbolic procession of Lord Venkatramana and Goddess Padmavathi, signifying the first journey of their divine union. As the deities were carried in a grand procession, devotees danced with unbridled enthusiasm, spraying hues of color in devotion and reverence. ‘Okuli,’ a much-awaited event, holds deep significance for the GSB community, serving as a testament to their unwavering faith and cultural heritage.
