Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Train to Continue; Possible Extension to Mumbai?

Udupi Chikmagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojari has urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw not to cancel the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat train amid speculations of its suspension. Instead, he proposed running a separate new train up to Mumbai. Responding immediately, Minister Vaishnaw assured that the existing service would not be discontinued and directed officials to take necessary steps for its extension to Mumbai.

To strengthen the demand, MP Poojari presented an economic viability report of Mangaluru and Udupi, emphasizing the need for Mumbai connectivity. Additionally, he requested that once sleeper Vande Bharat trains are introduced, priority be given to running one between Mangaluru and Mumbai. Expressing gratitude, MP Poojari thanked Minister Vaishnaw for positively considering the request and assuring action.
