In a significant development boosting the “Back To Ooru” initiative by MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, the Germany-based ETAG Group, through its Indian subsidiary ETAG Energietechnik, has signed an Expression of Interest (EOI) with Mangalore SEZ. This landmark agreement marks ETAG’s strategic decision to relocate its headquarters and production facilities to Mangalore, bringing an investment of Rs 300 crore. Led by Chairman Shri Prakash Pereira, the multinational energy and EV infrastructure company has recognized Mangalore's strategic advantages. MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta wrote on X (formerly Twitter) "This step aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning India as a global leader in clean energy and sustainable technologies."

This is the second EOI signing within just six weeks, further cementing Mangalore’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and global collaboration. The move by ETAG Group underscores the city’s potential to attract global players and drive industrial growth while fostering sustainability. The partnership is expected to not only generate significant employment opportunities but also establish Mangalore as a key player in the global clean energy and EV infrastructure sectors, propelling the region into a new era of industrial prominence.
