The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will be carrying out major repair work on the old Netravati Bridge along National Highway 66, connecting Mangalore to the state of Kerala, from April 1 to April 30, 2025. During this 30-day period, a two-way traffic system will be implemented on one of the two bridges (the Mangalore city to Talapady-bound bridge) to accommodate vehicle movement. This shift will lead to significant traffic congestion, particularly from Pumpwell to Tokkottu, which is expected to worsen during peak hours. Consequently, drivers and riders are urged to exercise extra caution and avoid traveling on this route during the busiest times of the day.

In light of these repairs, the public is encouraged to use alternative routes to ease the flow of traffic:

Local light vehicles and two-wheelers traveling from Mudipu, Konaje, or Deralakatte towards Mangalore city can take the Konaje-Harekal Bridge-Adyar route. Conversely, those heading from Mangalore towards Konaje, Mudipu, or Deralakatte should follow the Adyar-Harekal Bridge route.

For vehicles traveling towards Talapady or Kerala, those coming from Talapady, Ullal, and surrounding areas should divert via Mudipu, Boliyar, and Melkar, while travelers from B.C. Road to Talapady can take the Melkar-Mudipu-Tokkottu route.

These alternate routes will help reduce congestion and ensure smoother travel during the repair work.
