In a gripping match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) edged out the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs. Batting first, LSG posted a formidable total of 203/8, thanks to impressive half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. Despite a commendable all-round performance by MI's captain Hardik Pandya, who took 5 wickets for 36 runs and scored a quickfire 28 off 16 balls, MI fell short in their chase.

Suryakumar Yadav's resilient half-century kept MI's hopes alive, but the team ultimately concluded their innings at 191/5. Notably, Tilak Varma retired out during the run chase, a rare occurrence in IPL history. Additionally, MI's seasoned opener, Rohit Sharma, missed the game due to a knee injury sustained during practice sessions. This victory marks LSG's second win of the season, bolstering their position in the IPL 2025 standings.
