Mangaluru: Karnataka Assembly Speaker U T Khader has issued a stern warning to legislators disrupting House proceedings, stating that he will not hesitate to take "extreme steps" if the ruckus continues. Speaking to the media in Mangaluru, Khader emphasized that suspension should not be viewed as a punishment but as a means for MLAs to reform themselves and uphold the dignity of the Assembly. He urged elected representatives to set an example through their conduct and respect the sanctity of the legislative process.

Reiterating his firm stance, the Speaker warned that repeated disruptions and insults to the ‘chair’ could lead to severe consequences, including a one-year suspension from the Assembly. His remarks come amid growing concerns over frequent chaos in legislative sessions, with opposition and ruling party MLAs clashing over various issues. Khader's tough stand underscores the need for discipline and decorum in Karnataka’s legislature, as he seeks to restore order and ensure constructive debates within the House.
