India Strikes Back: Major Diplomatic Blow to Pakistan After Terror Attack

New Delhi, April 23: In a bold and unprecedented move, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced a series of sweeping measures approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in response to a recent deadly terrorist attack. Addressing the nation, Misri emphasized the gravity of the incident, revealing that the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 will be suspended immediately—marking a historic escalation in India's stance. He further declared that the Integrated Checkpost at Attari is closed with immediate effect, with a narrow window for return travel until May 1, 2025.

Additionally, India has revoked all travel privileges under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for Pakistani nationals, mandating those currently in India to exit within 48 hours. In a significant diplomatic snub, all Defence, Military, Naval, and Air Advisors at Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi have been declared persona non grata, with a one-week deadline to leave. India will also be withdrawing its own military advisors from Islamabad, effectively freezing key strategic channels. These decisive actions underscore India's resolve to hold Pakistan accountable for fostering cross-border terrorism.
