GAIL India’s City Gas Pipeline Project Reviewed in Key Coordination Meeting

Mangaluru: A high-level review meeting was held at the Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner’s office to assess the progress of GAIL India’s ongoing city gas pipeline project, aimed at providing natural gas connections to urban consumers. The session focused on streamlining inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the project, which is expected to be a major step toward sustainable urban energy solutions.
The meeting saw the participation of key public representatives and officials, including MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty, and Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath. Dakshina Kannada DC Mullai Muhilan led the discussions, with officials from Mangaluru City Corporation, Smart City project, MESCOM, Jalajeeva (Jalasiri), KUWIDFC, BSNL, and NHAI in attendance. The collective emphasized the need for seamless coordination between civic bodies and utility agencies to minimize disruptions and accelerate implementation.
