BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta has strongly criticized the Karnataka Budget 2025, calling it a blatant exercise in minority appeasement. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he alleged that the Congress government has prioritized appeasement politics over the welfare of Hindus, backward communities, and linguistic minorities. MP Captain Brijesh particularly pointed to the allocation of ₹1,000 crore under the ‘Chief Minister’s Minority Colony Development Programme,’ claiming it reflects an intentional effort to create religious ghettos. He warned that such policies threaten the state's secular fabric and ignore the broader interests of Karnataka’s diverse population.

Highlighting past communal tensions, MP Captain Brijesh linked the budget’s provisions to the 2020 Bengaluru riots, where law enforcement faced violent attacks in minority-dominated areas. He accused Congress of enabling the growth of fanatic groups through policies that foster segregation rather than integration. "Congress’ appeasement politics comes at the cost of Karnataka’s peace, progress, and prosperity," he stated, calling on citizens to recognize the dangers of such governance. His remarks have reignited the debate on the state government’s priorities, with the opposition intensifying its critique of Congress' budgetary allocations.
