Udupi: A bomb threat via email sent shockwaves through Sharada Residential School on Monday morning. The alarming email, received at 4:45 AM, was discovered by the school authorities around 8:00 AM, prompting an immediate evacuation of all 816 students hailing from 20 different states. Police teams, accompanied by a canine squad, swiftly arrived at the scene and conducted an extensive search of the school premises. The authorities left no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of the students, who were moved to the playground as a precautionary measure.
Principal Vincent D’Costa stated that after meticulous inspection of all classrooms, no explosives or dangerous materials were found. The quick action by the school and the police helped avert panic, while investigations to trace the email's sender are ongoing. Though the threat turned out to be a hoax, the incident has raised serious concerns among parents and the community, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures in educational institutions.
