Bantwal: After a gap of 105 years, the historic Shathachandika Yaga has commenced at the sacred Polali Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple for universal well-being and spiritual enrichment. Under the leadership of Brahmashree Polali Sri Krishna Tantri, temple priests Madhava Bhat, Narayana Bhat, Parameshwara Bhat, and Ram Bhat conducted Ganapati Homa with 108 coconuts, followed by mass prayers and the recitation of sacred hymns on February 1st.

Temple records confirm that a similar Shatachandi Yaga was performed at this divine site over a century ago. Now, in the same grand tradition, the ritual is being revived with a series of Vedic ceremonies. Religious rites, homas, and sacred recitations will continue until March 4th, culminating in the main Shatachandi Yaga on March 5th at 6 AM, followed by Maha Puja and Annasantharpane on March 6th. The event is being meticulously planned under the leadership of Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipady and temple administrator Dr. Manjaya Shetty, with an expected turnout of over 25,000 devotees.

As part of the festivities, an elaborate Horekanike procession was held on February 1st, where offerings from devotees were ceremoniously brought to the temple in a grand parade. Thousands of volunteers, along with religious and cultural organizations, have joined hands to make this historic event a spiritual milestone, ensuring that the divine aura of Polali Sri Rajarajeshwari continues to bless generations to come.
